What is Crash or Cash?

Caesars Entertainment has joined the “Vegas 5-Day Sale,” slashing prices on casino hotel rooms and premium show tickets starting at just $50.

For a second year, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is organizing the city-wide “Vegas 5-Day Sale.” Officially running from today (Sept. 22) through Saturday (Sept. 26), the event for 2026 includes more than 180 limited-time offerings.

Caesars is offering rooms at its Las Vegas properties discounted by up to 60% for stays through March 2027. The Caesars Palace operator is extending the five-day promotion to 9 am PT on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

Bill Beatty, our Editor-in-Chief, was my guiding light. I learned to think of journalism, the gambling industry, and even life, in whole new ways thanks to him, and I’ll always count on him as one of my mentors.

It took the whole team to make sure we put up the latest news and opinions every day, and everyone deserves their fair share of the credit.

To all of those I met at the handful of conferences I attended before Covid-19 sent everything to digital, and all of those I met over email or Zoom since, it was a pleasure to meet you. Through July, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) reported that visitor volume has rebounded only 0.5%. 2026 followed a difficult 2025, where visitation crashed 7.5%.

Far fewer travelers are arriving in the casino town by air this year. Harry Reid International Airport reported 30.2 million passengers through July—a 6.9% drop from the same period in 2025—with international traffic down nearly 9%.

The LVCVA and Harry Reid International Airport have not yet released their August reports. Truist Securities analyst Barry Jonas isn’t expecting a major rally.
